The items and character being sold or auctioned by GemStone IV Auction Place salespeople are negotiable. We try to price things as cheaply as we can, so in some cases we won't be able to drop the price any lower than it already is.

Why have some of the auctions been cancelled by the seller?

There's a few reasons why a seller would cancel an auction. A few of them are - the character or item being auctioned may have sold elsewhere or the seller may have decided not to sell the item.

Why do some of the same items and characters keep reappearing?

When someone bids/buys an item or character it's removed from the active auction listings. If the buyer doesn't come through on their end the seller can relist the auction on the website. Another reason that this could happen is that the seller cancelled his/her auction listing and then decided to sell it again at a later date.

The auction I'm interested in only has a cash price. Can I still pay for it with coins?

The seller may be willing to negotiate, but in most cases an auction that is only accepting cash payment will not accept a silver payment. You do have an alternative though. The GemStone IV Auction Place will convert your silvers into U.S. dollars which you can pay the seller with. All characters and items being sold by the GemStone IV Auction Place have had been examined closely by GSIV Auction Place salespeople. The item/character descriptions, stats, show descriptions, etc. are to the best of our knowledge, accurate. If you have a question regarding a character or item being sold, you can click the hyperlink of the seller's name on the item details page and send the seller a question.

Selling Answers

I see where I can auction my characters from, but where do I go to auction my items?

Currently, the general public cannot auction their items on the GemStone IV Auction Place. We'll be reviewing how well the character auction service has gone at the end of May 2004. At that point we may open up the item auctioning capabilities to all GSIV Auction Place users. Characters can be auctioned at http://www.gsauctions.com/sell.asp.

Why do some auctions have a cash and silver price and how does each work?

Some characters and items are being sold for either cash or silver. This means that the seller will accept either type of payment for the character or item they are selling. Once the auction has ended, it will be up to the buyer and seller to finalize the payment terms. This gives both buyer and seller a little more flexibility than forcing everything to be strictly cash sales or strictly silver sales. Sellers do have the ability to create an auction and allow only one type of currency to be used as payment.

Couldn't I make more money selling my silver on eBay?

In most cases the difference between selling your silver to us or auctioning it on eBay is negligible.
